Roald Dahl updated the fairy tale of Cinderella in 1982 in his Revolting Rhymes. The most significant Dahlian detail in his verse retelling of the tale comes near the end, when one of the stepsisters replaces the glass slipper with her own shoe.
In my short analysis of “Cindarella”, understanding the basic concepts of the story was not as easy as I had once predicted. The author Elisabeth Panttaja explains in her essay different views and ideas in the sense that Cinderella is successful because of the magical powers created by her dead mother.
The story of Cinderella is a timeless classic that characterizes the different aspects of historical writing. Many later variations of the story derive their origin from classic antiquity, one being possibly the earliest version recorded in the first century BC from the tale of the Greco-Egyptian girl Rhodopis.
In Elizabeth Pantajja’s analysis. Cinderella’s narrative still continues to arouse emotions but non as a love narrative but a contradiction of what we some of us believe. Pantajja chose Cinderella’s narrative to edify the readers that being good and piousness are non the ground for Cinderella’s covetous faery narrative.
Cinderella, who is presented in the story as a non-hero of a suspicious tale, displays a rather deeper attraction as compared to the dominant archetypes. In this sense, she easily creates relationships, properly defines her destiny, show forgiveness to others, and further attracts magical support from others.
In Anne Sexton’s “Cinderella”, she shakes up the traditional fairy tale, by adding her own tale. She uses sarcasm to finish the tale, causing the reader’s expectation of a happy ending and a traditional fairy tale to disappear.
